Fernandina Beach is known as the birthplace of the modern shrimping industry.  At the Fernandina Beach Marine Welcome Center & Shrimping Museum, you can learn about net making, ship building, and so much more! Learn about the families that brought modern shrimping to Florida and their descendants who keep alive the traditions.

We believe in our maritime history and in the importance of educating our community, both full time and temporary, on the amazing part it has played in the development of our local, state, and national heritage.
