Amelia Island Beach Travel Guide

The sun rises majestically over the horizon. The wildlife gracefully stirs, embracing a renewed sense of curiosity. Your footprints create one-of-a-kind impressions as you stroll along the shore. And your pace, without realizing, keeps time to the rhythm of the sea. On the beaches of Amelia Island, this is how the day begins. Where you take it from there is entirely up to you. Let’s find your Island thing.

The one and only Main Beach

So many ways to play

Lovingly dubbed “The Family Zone,” Main Beach is the place where beauty meets brawn. Only the pristine shoreline separates the ocean from the action. And the action is plentiful. Spend your morning frolicking on the beach, then amp up your afternoon with putt-putt golf, a surf and skate park, and a delicious dinner with a view.

Leave no trace

Amelia Island's natural beauty leaves a lasting impression. However, we request that visitors and residents leave only their footprints. Please respect the environment and dispose of trash properly, fill in any holes and smooth out sandcastles before you leave the beach. These obstacles can be a danger to nesting sea turtles and other wildlife. Articles left unattended after sunset may be removed and destroyed.

September, October and November mean slightly cooler temperatures, so fall is perfect for enjoying outdoor area activities, including many island events. December and January bring drier air and comfortable winter weather. March, April and May bring springtime blooms, and it’s a great time to enjoy sightseeing, beachcombing, biking and nature walks.
