Amelia Island’s natural beauty has long been both an inspiration for artists and a draw for talented creators from around the world who have relocated here. A great way to sample the island’s art is with the Amelia Island Art Passport. Visit artisan galleries, studios, makeries, and public art installments perfect for Instagram-able backdrops – Check in, collect points, and choose cool prizes. At the same time, you can enjoy photography, pottery, metals, watercolors, acrylics, oils, batik, and stained glass across the island.

Start off in Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach on Centre Street. You won’t easily miss the Blue Door Artists gallery. A set of colorful stairs leads the way to the contemporary space featuring a variety of mediums and genres from unique island artists including Theresa Daily and her award-winning land and seascape paintings that can be seen in many private and public collections in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
The Atlantic Contemporary is the primary destination for internationally represented contemporary artists on Amelia Island. Not only will you find thoughtful and compelling exhibitions, but unique works that will add dimension and design to your home.
S 7th Street is home to Paisley Grace Makery where everyone is an artist! Paisley Grace is a DIY art studio with over 750 projects to choose from. Whether it’s epoxy pour, paint pour, free paint, or a charcuterie workshop, Paisley Grace will guide you through the steps of creating an artistic memory that’s loads of fun.
If you’re short on time, but want to sample some of the local creations, the Island Art Association Gallery on 2nd Street is the perfect place to stop in to view works from more than 50 local exhibiting artists. More than 200 local artists are members, ranging from photographers and sculptors to painters and jewelry makers.
From downtown, head south on 8th Street to award-winning Casey Matthews Fine Art. Casey creates rich paintings with multi-media surfaces that are both visually intriguing and full of energy. They incorporate expressive color, fluid movement, and strong elements of design.
Shady Ladies Art Studio is where creativity grows. Shady Ladies is not only an art studio and gallery but home to three local artists who give art classes, have monthly themed shows, gifts and more!
Head towards the south end of the island to The Palette Shop, a fine art gallery and paint workspace offering private art lessons, group painting workshops, and private parties.
Located in The Shops Of Omni Amelia Island Resort, Plantation Artists’ Guild and Gallery offers an impressive selection of local artwork displayed in a bright, open artist-run gallery where folks can purchase original artwork, participate in a workshop, attend a demonstration, or view the amazing collection.
