Have you ever enjoyed a really good meal with a not-so-great ambiance that made your dining experience just meh? By the same token, have you ever had a so-so meal with outstanding views that made your dining experience really good? I think we can all say we’ve experienced both of these on more than one occasion. Here are 10 Amelia Island restaurants that not only have epic views, but they also have really good food and service to boot.
Be sure to visit one or all the next time you’re here. Bon Appétit!
Located directly on Main Beach, Sandbar Amelia Island serves a plethora of favorites, including fresh seafood, burgers, pizzas, and tropical cocktails. The view is all Atlantic Ocean, with a “toes in the sand front-row seat” to crashing waves and beachgoers. It’s the quintessential beach restaurant.
Watch a photo-worthy sunset over the Fernandina Harbor from Salty Pelican Bar & Grill in historic downtown Fernandina Beach. They feature fresh local seafood, buffalo wings, amazing tuna nachos, oysters on the half shell, and a selection of craft beers and fresh cocktails. Grab a seat on the 2nd-story deck for sweeping views of the Amelia River.
Enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean while dining on Amelia Island’s most indulgent breakfast at FloraBelle. The “Morning Table” buffet will make sure you don’t leave hungry with choices of French toast, cold smoked salmon, eggs any way you want them, pecanwood smoked bacon and much more. You can dine in their spacious dining room, but for the best views, dine on the outdoor terrace.
Recognized with a AAA Five Diamond award, Salt, located at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, is the crème de la crème in dining experiences. Known for fresh coastal ingredients and creative preparation, Salt delivers a beautiful (and delicious) presentation with every dish. The elegant dining room overlooks the dunes and Atlantic Ocean, creating a sophisticated backdrop for sunset dining.
Salt Life Food Shack is located directly across from the ocean and offers a large, eclectic menu with a wide variety of options, including salads, fried seafood baskets, classic burgers, and authentic street tacos. Wet your whistle with a frosty cold beer or refreshing cocktail. Make sure you ask to sit upstairs on the rooftop deck, where the ocean views are nothing short of spectacular.
A longtime Amelia Island favorite, Slider’s Seaside Grill pairs seafood, burgers, steaks, and tropical cocktails with unbeatable ocean views. Kids love the beachfront playground, while adults can unwind at the oceanfront tiki bar. Be sure to sample the famous fried pickles, and don’t miss breakfast upstairs at Tortuga Jack’s, where Mexican-inspired dishes are served with a side of outstanding ocean views.
Coquina at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island is an oceanfront restaurant where salt not only seasons your food but also lines the rim of your tasty margarita. Offering Spanish-inspired coastal cuisine, fresh seafood, tapas, and handcrafted cocktails, Coquina pairs relaxed luxury with sweeping ocean views from its outdoor terrace. It’s muy delicioso!
Just over the Shave Bridge, Cantina Louie brings the flavors of Mexico to Amelia Island with street tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and one of the island’s most extensive margarita selections. Grab a seat on the outdoor deck and enjoy views of the marsh, the bridge, and a tranquil pond where alligators are often spotted gliding through the water.
Fresh oysters, peel-and-eat shrimp, seafood baskets, and cold beer are the stars here at Shuckers Oyster Bar. Located along the Intracoastal Waterway, the outdoor deck offers marsh and river views that are especially beautiful at sunset. You can dine indoors, but dine outdoors where the breezes, tunes, and palm trees are a tropical paradise.
Located “down under” the Shave bridge, the Down Under is a long-time local favorite restaurant that serves seafood, burgers, sandwiches, and Southern comfort food. Guests enjoy unique waterfront views of the Amelia River, where they can see passing boats, dolphins, manatees, and many types of coastal feathered friends that roost nearby. Sunsets here are amazing!
There you have it! Whether you’re dining oceanfront or overlooking the marshes, river, and harbor, Amelia Island offers plenty of restaurants where the scenery is just as memorable as the meal. See a complete list of the amazing Amelia Island Foodie Scene.
