The sandwich, in its basic form, is described as “slices of meat, cheese, or other food placed between two slices of bread”. Yawn. In my humble opinion, sandwiches don’t get nearly enough love. For all you sandwich lovers out there, get ready to indulge in some of the best breakfast and lunch sandwiches from one end of the island to the other! Here’s a roundup of some of our favorites.
Located in the heart of downtown, Hola Cuban Café serves up delicious Cuban classics perfect for breakfast and lunch.
Location: 31 S 5th Street. Open 9 am – 3 pm, Thur & Sun; 9 am – 6 pm, Fri & Sat; Closed Mon – Wed.
Located in a former Exxon service station, T-Rays is a local favorite serving up good home cookin’ at a great price. Known for mouthwatering burgers and comfort food, the menu is simplistic, eclectic and oh so good.
Location: 202 South 8th Street. Open 7 am – 2 pm, Mon – Fri; 8 am – 1 pm, Sat.
For those craving classic deli sandwiches stuffed with delicious meats and cheeses, as well as salads with a twist, 4th Street Deli is sandwich (and salad) heaven. It wasn’t voted the island’s Best Sandwich Shop & Deli for nothing.
Location: 3 N 4th Street. Open 10:30 am – 3 pm, daily; Closed Sunday.
The bagels at Aloha Bagel and Deli are so good that if you close your eyes, you’ll think you’re at your favorite NYC deli, and with their commitment to serving only the freshest, most delicious bagels, it’s no wonder they claim to be the “best little bagel shop on Amelia Island”—and I’m pretty sure they are.
Location: 432 S 8TH Street. Open 6:30 am – 2 pm, daily.
Enjoy a laid-back atmosphere at The Patio at 5th & Ash with their eclectic menu of fresh and flavorful options. Dine inside or on the patio under a canopy of live oaks.
Location: 416 Ash Street. Open 11 am – 9 pm, daily; Closed Tuesday.
The Boat House is a relaxed and playful dining environment with live entertainment outside on the patio, which is exactly where you should sit. The eclectic menu with a Southern twist, makes it a great place for a lunch full of flavor.
Location: 30 S 2nd Street. Open 4 pm – 9:30 pm, daily (opens at 2 pm on Sat & Sun).
From homemade biscuits and gravy to tasty afternoon sandwiches, Magnolia’s Cafe offers something for everyone with fresh ingredients, hot coffee, and perfectly chilled cold brew.
Location: 1480 Sadler Road. Open 7 am – 2 pm, daily.
Located on S 3rd Street, Garden Street Bistro is a hidden gem worth finding. Not only do they serve breakfast and brunch all day every day, but they also have incredible pizzas, burgers, and sandwiches. Sit inside or outside in the courtyard beneath wisteria vines.

Located at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Coquina is an open-air, oceanfront outdoor restaurant with a menu inspired by our Spanish roots. With the surf in your ears, salt on the rim of your drink, and the grilled catch of the day in a sandwich, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Dine a while. Shop a while. Marché Burette, located in the Shops at Omni Amelia Island Resort, is a great spot to pick up a gift and grab a tasty breakfast or lunch all while overlooking a scenic lagoon.
Location: 87 Amelia Village Circle. Open 6:30 am – 5 pm, daily (open until 9 pm Fri-Sun).
