Summertime on Amelia Island brings celebrations of Love, Freedom, Food and Dance. Here are a few noteworthy events and festivals that will have you wondering what else this little island has up it’s sleeve. Find more events by visiting the Activities Calendar!
June 2 – Centre Street, 6-8pm.
Free Concert and Street Dance with live music by The Honey Badgers! Pirates, face painters, popcorn, prizes, and more… bring a lawn chair and your dancing shoes! On Centre Street between 2nd and Front Streets in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach.

June 8 – 18 – Amelia Musical Playhouse. 7:30pm – 10pm.
Come see some of our local youth onstage in Grease The Musical. Follow Danny, Sandy and all the familiar characters through the halls of Rydell High. Very talented teens will have you singing and dancing from your seats with songs like We Go Together and Summer Nights.

June 10 – Central Park. Parade, 10am. Festival, 11am-3pm.
Enjoy a day of LOVE with local musicians, vendors, food trucks, speakers, informational booths, children’s activities (face painting and more!) and an opportunity for individuals and families to picnic, enjoy the festivities and Celebrate Gay Pride at an open and welcoming event. This is an alcohol-free event.

June 11, August 13, and October 8 – Sadler Ranch. 4pm – 7pm.
Dance the night away at Sadler Ranch with the sounds of a classic big band with a modern flair. Crescendo Amelia’s 14-piece band features a variety of music from the 1920’s straight through to the 2000’s! Ticketing options are available online including student, senior, and reserved VIP tables. Food & drink available for purchase.

June 13 – Salt Restaurant. 10:30am.
The Chefs at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island are presenting a monthly cooking demonstration preparing and cooking a variety of cuisines. After each demonstration, students dine with a matched wine and return to the set for the next dish. The final demonstration is by the pastry chefs. For the June class, Chef Papi presents a culinary tour of the Pork Highway of Puerto Rico. To view ALL of the monthly classes, click here.

June 17 – Peck Center/Charles Eugene Richo Field. 12pm – 7pm.
We celebrate Juneteenth as a commemoration of the ending of slavery and as a celebration of African-American culture and achievements. This family-friendly event will include activities for children, contests, family tents (must register online), food trucks, informational booths, and a vendor market. This is a non-alcoholic event.

June 17 – The Omni Amelia Island Resort. 6pm – 8pm.
Enjoy an intimate southern-inspired dinner at The Sprouting Project, a monthly farm-to-table experience where guests dine on a featured seasonal ingredient grown directly from their on-site organic garden. Prior to a 5-course dinner, guests will tour the garden, aquaponic greenhouse, barrel room and apiary. June’s featured ingredient is Chili Pepper. Seating is limited! July 4 – The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island.
Celebrate Independence Day with an all-American lawn party. Menu includes, seafood, ceviches, shrimp cocktail, marinated steak and grilled local fish, summer vegetables, and a delectable dessert bar. Entertainment includes games for the whole family and a front row seat to the oceanfront fireworks show at 9:15 p.m.

July 4 – Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach. 6pm – 10pm.
Light Up Amelia, together with the City of Fernandina Beach and Florida Public Utilities presents Hometown 4th Of July Fireworks! This year’s event will feature music, food trucks and commercial vendors. Fireworks will launch at approximately 9:00pm.

July 13 – First Baptist Church. 7pm.
“The First Set” is a high-energy show with tap dance as the focal point. A tap dancer as melodic as he is rhythmic, John Manzari delights audiences with his creativity and craft. His show—featuring selections from traditional and modern masters—spotlights enduring connections between past and present.
