Summertime on Amelia Island brings celebrations of Love, Freedom, Food and Dance. Here are a few noteworthy events and festivals that will have you wondering what else this little island has up it’s sleeve. Find more events by visiting the Activities Calendar!
June 7 and August 2 – Centre Street, 6:00 – 8:00pm.
Free Concert and Street Dance with live music by The Honey Badgers! Pirates, face painters, popcorn, prizes, and more… bring a lawn chair and your dancing shoes! On Centre Street between 2nd and Front Streets in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach. 102 Centre Street
June and July – Amelia Musical Playhouse.
Amelia Musical Playhouse (AMP) is a vibrant entertainment hub showcasing an array of captivating musical theatre performances, plays, and revues. This summer, dive into the world of timeless classics and contemporary hits with productions like “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (June 6 – 16),” “Florida Man: A Southern Rock Revue (June 28 – 29),” and the beloved “Legally Blonde, The Musical (July 5 – 20).” 1955 Island Walkway
June 16, August 18, and October 20 – Sadler Ranch. 4:00pm – 6:30pm.
Dance the night away at Sadler Ranch with the sounds of a classic big band with a modern flair. Crescendo Amelia’s 14-piece band features a variety of music from the 1920’s straight through to the 2000’s! Ticketing options are available online including student, senior, and reserved VIP tables. June 11 and August 13 (summer classes) – Salt Restaurant. 10:30am.
The Chefs at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island are presenting a monthly cooking demonstration preparing and cooking a variety of cuisines. After each demonstration, students dine with a matched wine and return to the set for the next dish. The final demonstration is by the pastry chefs. For the June class, Chef Garrett presents Amelia Island Barbeque, incorporating local seafood in traditional barbecue styles. View ALL of the monthly classes. 4750 Amelia Island Parkway
June 22 – Peck Center/Charles Eugene Richo Field. 12:00pm – 6:00pm.
We celebrate Juneteenth as a commemoration of the ending of slavery and as a celebration of African-American culture and achievements. This family-friendly event will include activities for children, contests, family tents (must register online), food trucks, informational booths, and a vendor market. This is a non-alcoholic event. 516 S 10th Street
June 15 – Omni Amelia Island Resort. 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
Enjoy an intimate southern-inspired dinner at The Sprouting Project, a monthly farm-to-table experience where guests dine on a featured seasonal ingredient grown directly from their on-site organic garden. Prior to a 5-course dinner, guests will tour the garden, aquaponic greenhouse, barrel room and apiary. June’s featured ingredient is Tree Nut. Seating is limited! July 4 – The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. 6:00pm – 9:30
Celebrate Independence Day with an all-American lawn party. Enjoy holiday festivities including lawn and carnival-style games as Ritz-Carlton chefs craft a delicious barbecue buffet. Enjoy classic barbecue delights and seafood favorites. The Pastry Chefs present a lavish red, white and blue dessert buffet.Enjoy front row seating for a dazzling oceanfront fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. 4700 Ameila Island Pkwy.
July 4 – Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach. 6:00pm – 9:30pm.
Light Up Amelia, together with the City of Fernandina Beach and Florida Public Utilities presents Hometown 4th Of July Fireworks! This year’s event will feature music, food trucks and commercial vendors. Fireworks will launch at approximately 9:00pm. Foot of Centre Street
July 6 – The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. 6:00pm
Take part in an authentic Low Country BBQ on with Master Pitmaster Tank Jackson from Holy City Hogs. Tank’s slow-roasted from his South Carolina farm is a unique epicurean experience. The specialty will be accompanied by sides from Tank’s family recipes. Ribs, sausage and seafood will also be served. Tank is also teaching a BBQ class on July 5th with Executive Chef, Garrett Gooch. Tickets available here.

Get ready for the ultimate display of strength and athleticism as the Southeast Regional Strongman Games descends upon Amelia Island. Competitors will showcase their power in thrilling events like the Pirate Ship Pull, where athletes will race to haul a pirate ship 50ft within a 60 sec time limit, and the Car Deadlift, challenging participants to deadlift a vehicle for maximum reps within a 60-second window. August 17 – Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport. 10:00am – 5:00pm
Inaugural Car and Airplane Show will consist of everything from restored antiques to modern era limited edition Corvettes. Judging takes place in several categories, including getting the spectators involved in selecting the People’s Choice award. The event will also promote National Aviation Day and the Fernandina Beach Bicentennial. 700 Airport Road
