The natural beauty of Amelia Island comes to life at the 9th Annual Wild Amelia Nature Festival , which kicks off on Friday, May 15th, with a sea turtle release with the Georgia Sea Turtle Center  at Main Beach at 10 a.m. A few of the ways you can experience the island's wilder side:
  • Eco Expo filled with exhibits from green vendors, nature and conservancy groups
  • Kids' Niche with interactive booths and a special Passport Program with prizes
  • Nature photography shoot behind the scenes at the Jacksonville Zoo*
  • Eco-tours by foot, bike, boat, golf cart and Segway - some for kids only *
  •  Starlab portable planetarium shows
  • Kids' fishing clinic at Fort Clinch
  • Live animal displays
  • Create a giant shell and sand sculpture on the beach
  • Live music and a silent auction
  • Sunset bird watching*
  • A meditation kayak paddle*
  • Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga*
  • Sunrise movement and meditation
  • Presentation of the winners of the Wild Amelia Nature photography contest
