February is National Heart Month, and Amelia Island, where Spring has already sprung, is the perfect spot to do something great for your heart: romance your Valentine, go for a relaxing walk on the beach, enjoy a stress-relieving massage, and take a ride under our canopy. We’re not only one of Florida’s Best Places to Bike, but also home to one of the region’s premier cycling events

To do something truly exceptional for your health while giving of your heart, challenge yourself to The Katie Ride for Life, with proceeds benefiting the Katie Caples Foundation’s organ donor education and awareness raising programs. Presented by Mayo Clinic, the event will take place on Saturday, April 16th.  With five routes (of 103, 63, 34, and 18 miles, plus a challenging 6 mile off-road route), the Ride courses through majestic state parks, ecological preserves and 40 miles of stunning coastal views. Some ride in memory of an organ donor and transplant recipients also participate in the Kate Ride as a way to mark their return to health.

The Katie Ride also offers an 8K walk and fun run, a four-hour marathon spin event, and a fun triathlon.  To pull off this inspiring event, the Katie Ride team always needs and welcomes volunteers.

Katie Ride for Life is an event for athletes of all experience levels and also for their family members, making for a memorable volunteer vacation and alternative to the standard spring break. Start your spring training and book your accommodations now for this special spring event.
