In February, Amelia Island becomes a literary destination when the 15th Annual
Amelia Island Book Festival brings top New York Times bestelling authors (and a full weekend of activities) to our shores. Discounted tickets for Festival events are available through December 31st, and they might make the perfect gift for the book lover on your list.
Steve Berry is the New York Times and #1 internationally bestselling author of
The Patriot Threat, The Lincoln Myth, The King’s Deception, The Columbus Affair, The Amber Room, and more. His books have been translated into 40 languages selling over 19,000,000 copies in 51 countries. The Honorary Chair of the Book Festival, Berry will speak at the Festival's kick-off luncheon on February 18th and, on the 19th, he and his wife Elizabeth will give a "Lessons from a Bestseller" Writers' Workshop.
“I’ve been coming to Amelia Island and its many book festivals for a long time. This year I’m honored to work with the board to make this the best event in the history of the festival," said Berry.
That evening, at the
Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, Berry will "face off" against his fellow thriller writers Greg Iles (#1 New York Times bestselling author of the critically acclaimed
Natchez Burning,) Janice Bashman (Bram Stoker-nominated author of
Predator and
Wanted Undead or Alive,) and Andrew Gross (author of numerous New York Times and international bestsellers including
Everything to Lose,
15 Seconds, Eyes Wide Open and co-author of five number one bestsellers with James Patterson.) With a cocktail reception, sit-down dinner and music, this promises to be an evening of literary rock-star proportions.
Saturday brings the popular Authors' Expo and Readers' Extravaganza where more than 125 authors of all genres take part in a free family-centered festival with books for sale, breakout sessions, book signings, contests, and more.
