There's so much to see and do at this weekend's Shrimp Festival - how can you make the most of it?  Here are ten ideas inspired by the picks of our friends at Fantastic Fudge, a legendary downtown destination where they make fudge from an 1887 recipe and scoop up ice cream in freshly made waffle cones (you'll know where they are when you see the crowds out front.) Shrimp Festival To-Do List 1) Get a shrimp pie for breakfast (the winning shrimp dish last year when Anthony Anderson came for his show 'Eating America') 2) Take the kids to the expanded Fun Zone at Central Park (where they can learn to be a Pirate and enter Saturday's Pirate in Training contest) 3) Browse antiques and look for treasure on the streets that cross Centre 4) See Mr. Steve throw the fudge in the air at Fantastic Fudge - and hang around long enough to get a free sample 5) Perfect your cooking skills by watching the celebrity chef cooking demo on Saturday on the harbor at 11:00 6) Buy a Shrimp Festival T-shirt 7) Catch headliner Edgar Winter at the waterfront bandstand on Saturday at 4:30 8) Consider some art purchases (get boiled shrimp from the Riverfront Food Court while you make up your mind) 9) Watch the Blessing of the Fleet at 1:30 on Sunday afternoon 10) Buy some of our Turtles for the ride home Look for sweet places to stay on Amelia Island and explore some of the great food you can enjoy all year long.
