Built in 1857, the Florida House Inn has entertained such notables as U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant, Henry Ford, and early film stars Mary Pickford as well as Laurel and Hardy. Lesesne House

The Lesesne House (pronouced Le Sane) was built in 1860 and was once home to Dr. John Lesesne, who treated injured soldiers during the Civil War. The Lesesne House is the oldest remaining post-and-beam home on Amelia Island and remains the crown jewel of Centre Street. This beautiful old home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, features an open lawn space, hidden gardens, as well as several intimate parlor rooms for ceremony or reception.
