The Artist’s Studio Series is a conversation with artists about inspiration and the creative process. How do artists see? What motivates them to begin a new work? Why do artists need art? Why do we?
As a result of a flurry of prominent publicity in the 1970s and 1980s (including features in New York Magazine and an appearance on Good Morning America), Syd Hap has become known as a master sculptor and creator of puppets, dolls and figurines.
While she is most known for Betty Boop creations, she’s also created puppets of celebrities including Paul Newman, Dr. Andrew Weill, the rock group Kiss and many others.
Today, this Amelia Island resident continues her mixed media art and uses her curious spirit, sense of humor and desire to inspire others in facilitating workshops for adults and children.
Tickets: $20 includes program, glass of wine and appetizers.
