The best engagement photos are ones that capture a couple's spirit - doing something they love to do together. Whether it's walking along the water's edge, sitting atop a cannon at Fort Clinch, or taking in nature and each other at Egans Creek Greenway, the photo ops on Amelia Island are limitless. In case you don’t believe us, we’ve gathered a few of our favorite spots for engagement photo sessions from all around the island, all meant to get you inspired for the next big day!

Fort Clinch State Park

Fort Clinch State Park is a photographer's dream. Whether you're a history buff, nature lover or a little bit of both, there are so many places to get the perfect shot for the perfect couple. Shoot in and around the fort itself; on the beach with the fort as a backdrop; beside the river and marsh; or, amongst the gorgeous live oaks that line the roadway. There are no bad photo ops here!

Big Talbot Island State Park

Boneyard Beach at Big Talbot Island State Park is located just off the southern tip of Amelia Island and is one of the areas most photographed places. It appropriately gets it's name from all of the whitewashed and bleached live oak "skeletons" scattered all along the beach. Mother Nature has definitely had a hand in making it dreamlike for engagement photos.

Beach photo sessions are a no brainer. With 13 miles of prisine coastline, there is no bad place to pose. As a matter of fact, THE BEACHES OF AMELIA ISLAND have seen more engagement photo shoots than any other place on the island. You've got the waves crashing in the background. The sea salty air swirling all around. Two people in love. It's pure magic.

Egans Creek Greenway

Get back to nature at Egans Creek Greenway where birds, alligators, deer, turtles, rabbits, and local flora and fauna (not to mention the creek itself) can all be in your background. Sounds like a disney movie, doesn't it? Well, it's close. There is always something new to see and explore on the Greenway which make photo sessions here particularly fun. You never know what may "photobomb" your picture!

The romance of quaint historic downtown Fernandina Beach, takes you back to days gone by and it's the perfect backdrop for love. So many engagement pictures have been taken downtown and it's obvious why. It's where old meets new. Where the sea meets the sky. Where the land meets the river. Where the train meets the tracks. Um, I think you get the picture. The photo opportunities here are endless.

Drummond Point Park

Located on the northwest side of OMNI AMELIA ISLAND RESORT the lovely and secluded Drummond Point park features several nature trails, walkways and boardwalks that extend deep into the salt marshes. You will either need to be staying at the resort or gain permission to enter the security gates to get pictures made, but it's well worth the effort for a forever memory. Photo credit: Avalee DeLay

Fernandina Plaza at Old Town

Old Town is where the original town of Fernandina first settled and is the historic site of Fort San Carlos, a Spanish fort dating back to the early 1800s. It's a popular (semi-secret) spot for viewing the sunset and is a beautiful place to capture your engagement photos. With gentle breezes coming off of the Amelia River and the golden glow at the end of the day, I'd say it's just about perfect.
