I hate to have to give a $100 meal to my dog
Only a portion of the words in the menu were in english. It being a holiday I didn't feel like typing in my phone to translate the rest. The bread was ok. The butter had a lousy spice added. The hummus thing they gave us was universally hated at our table. the appetizers were all losers. The salad needed an electric knife to cut it. The turkey loaf I repeat turkey loaf for Thanksgiving was basically out of national lampoons xmas vacation. The stuffing had some more lousy spices. The desserts were a waste of calories. The creme brulee was ok but it's crust was not.
I made a bad guess picking this place. They put more stock in how food looks than how it tastes. I spent half the 3 hours it took before dessert ( we took ours home) wondering what these people were thinking when they designed this train wreck of a meal. The green beam casserole was the best thing and it wasn't special. This is 100% on management. The staff worked hard. I am not a Karen and try to give encouraging reviews. I encourage them not to offer this kind of food in the future.
Business dinner option …
Friendly service for dinner while visiting for business. Meals were well presented and enjoyed by all. Scallops were delicious! Dessert took a very long time to receive and be aware that the Tiramisu is extremely strong (not in a good way) and wasn’t really Tiramisu.
Meh and expensive Meh at that
We were looking forward to dinner at the Veranda, but were sorely disappointed. It was hard to get to, set back away from the parking area. However, the worst part was that the food was not worth the hassle in getting there. My wife and I shared the blue crab dip, which was ok but nothing to write home about. Then she had cannelloni, consisting of two tubes of pasta stuffed with ricotta. OK, but not worth the $39 price. I ordered the pasta with seafood. Way too much garlic spoiled the meal. The food was just not very good. Hence the Meh. At one point the manager came by and when I told him how bad the pasta was he offered to replace it with a new order with no garlic. However, by this point I no longer had an appetite. We spent a lot of money for a very poor meal.
Great a service, delicious food
We went to Verandah as our “fancy dinner” while staying at the Omni. Love that you can take the shuttle there and they’ll pick you up afterwards. My husband said strawberry old fashioned was too sweet, so he ordered a normal old fashion after that. We had the crab dip appetizer and it was very good! Much lighter than most crab dips and not filled with cheese. I had the scallops with risotto with was SO good! My husband had the pasta with shrimp and tomato cream sauce. Both were very good at HOT- made to order. Our entrees took a while but our waiter (Tessa) apologized as did the manager. We were in no rush and gave us time to enjoy each other and let our appetizer settle! It is pricey but definitely fun for a special occasion. The flourless chocolate cake is delicious! It came with cherry mousse on top which I wasn’t expecting but it was good! Tessa was amazing and very sweet. Overall, we had a really good experience and didn’t feel rushed whatsoever (which I hate).
Pass, there are other places to eat at
The restaurant was pretty empty, the manager (Shawn) was very nice, our waiter Richard was knowledgeable, but not attentive, 3x we had to ask for refills...Maybe because we aren't big drinkers he didn't feel we were worth his time. The meals were good, my husband enjoyed his scallops with risotto. I order stuffed Agnolotti with homemade ricotta. Unfortunately, my meal wasn't that satisfying. The dish only had 5 Agnolotti, the rest of the plate was cipollini and summer squash..Rather small, wouldn't recommend. The service was disappointing, and lack of attention.
