Accommodating Staff and Fabulous Food
My husband and I made reservations for our 11th anniversary celebratory meal. Our server was super friendly and seated us at a booth- table combo. She brought us complimentary champagne out to help celebrate. The restaurant is housed in a historic old home with a grand staircase and lots of woodwork. We were seated near a fireplace with a wooden mantle and marble hearth. The furnishings were modern, yet they complimented the antique building. We dined at the restaurant on a Wednesday which was half off wine night. We got a great bottle of Pinot Noir. We started off with Brussel sprouts for an appetizer. They came with a dipping sauce and they were a generous portion…delicious. For entrees we ordered cast iron seared scallops and the catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi. Both were served with Parmesan risotto. The presentation and food was fabulous. We also had a pecan caramel cheesecake that had a chocolate candy base. It was amazing as well. We will definitely go back.
Nice place. Good food.
We’ve always enjoyed this place and still do. Went with 5 for a birthday dinner and came away happy. Since it was a special occasion I called the day of the reservation (after making an online reservation) to request seating in the main dining room. This was the birthday girl’s request as the ambience there is charming. The person who took the call said no problem. When we arrived, the hostess seemed less than happy to see us and didn’t bother with a greeting. I told her we had a reservation and she looked and started to seat us in the bar area. I explained I had called and was told the main dining was no problem. It was a Friday but early (6), and there were plenty of tables in main but they squeezed the 5 of us into a table for 4.
Despite that and slow food, we all had a great time. The food was great and our server was wonderful! We’ll be back!
A Great Neighborhood Place to Eat
I was looking for a nice place to eat near my inn, and the lovely front office person recommended the Beech Street Grill, just around the corner. I called to ask if I needed to make a reservation and they said that they weren’t taking any more reservations, but would seat walk-ins. I arrived and was seated promptly. Even though I was a single, my waiter was very attentive. I started with a half portion of the Caesar salad, which was ample. It was good, but instead of croutons, it came with a piece of toast. I then had the fried oysters served with a horseradish aioli. There very six oysters that had been perfectly fried, and the sauce had a pleasant tang. The grill atmosphere was casual and pleasant.
Excellent food
Food was excellent. I loved my sea scallops dish. All others liked their dishes as well. They had a few beers on tap. Reducing rating since they ran out of deserts. They had NONE left when we finished our main course. Simply unacceptable for a good restaurant.
One of best meals on island
We absolutely love this place. The food is consistent every time. It is one of our must haves when we are on island. I highly recommend the catch of the day ! Everyone we have told about it raves about the food. Fresh food and attentive wait staff! Can't wait for our next trip on island !
