The Addison on Amelia Island

The Addison on Amelia Island Bed and Breakfast is comprised of three antebellum style buildings enclosing an enchanting courtyard with lush tropical landscaping and a 3-tier fountain.

Understated hints of the tropics in the impeccably decorated guest rooms bring to mind Old Florida elegance with four-poster beds, rich hardwood floors and ceiling fans stirring a cool breeze. Imagine yourself as a guest in an elegant turn-of-the-century home by the sea: warm, well-polished furnishings, tall ceilings, the rustle of silk draperies in the afternoon breeze and wicker chairs overlooking a quiet courtyard. Private, semi-private and public porches overlooking the historic homes of Ash Street or the soothing fountain courtyard provide guests with a place to enjoy a cup of coffee, our delicious 3-course breakfast, a glass of wine, or simply to relax amid the oasis of calm.

Guests will find shopping, dining, and activities all within walking distance of the inn. The Addison on Amelia Island is proud to be a Select Registry property that guarantees an exceptional level of cleanliness, service, and hospitality to provide the optimal guest experience. Once again, The Addison on Amelia Island was awarded Trip Advisor’s Traveler’s Choice Award for 2020 based on the high number of extremely positive guest reviews. Meetings at The Addison on Amelia Island

Conveniently located in the charming Historic District of Fernandina Beach, our Amelia Island, Florida inn is just a short stroll to shopping, great restaurants, eclectic art galleries, and the marina. Just steps away from the Inn is something for everyone including a day at the spa, eco-tours of the rivers and marshes, shopping, skippered sailing cruises, fine dining and casual lunches, live music in the local bars, the Farmer's Market every Saturday, and so much more. It's a perfect spot to hold a business meeting, event or wedding. The Parlor and Dining area are available for meetings when you book the entire inn.

The comforts of our inn make it feel more like a home away from home than most Fernandina Beach hotels. The Inn itself is comprised of three buildings that surround a central courtyard with lush gardens, brick walk-ways, and a three-tier fountain as the centerpiece. Several rooms have porches overlooking the courtyard that offer a pleasant spot for a glass of wine or early morning cup of fresh coffee. The courtyard verandah is where your Innkeepers host the afternoon Happy Hour.

The Addison on Amelia Island was selected as one of the top ten overall bed and breakfast inns in America in the 2011 TripAdvisor.com Traveler's Choice Awards. The Addison also won a Best of the South Award in the 2011 Best of BedandBreakfast.com Awards. Both of these distinctions were awarded based on the high number of extremely positive guest reviews posted to these top travel directories.

Worth Tasting Culinary weekend

My friend and I stayed at The Addison for 4 nights for a Worth Tasting Culinary weekend.
Ron and Lisa are incredible hosts, so friendly and helpful. The rooms are absolutely beautiful! They surround a lovely courtyard with a fountain and tasteful landscaping. Comfy chairs outside each room are perfect for sipping morning coffee. Lisa could have been a professional chef- breakfast is that good! You can eat outside or inside. Social hour each evening at 5 pm with your choice of beer or wine ( no food) - so nice to talk with other people staying there. Borrowed beach chairs- the beach is about 2 miles away. The location is perfect- walking distance to local unique shops and too many great restaurants to get to. Amelia Island is full of things to do and so beautiful- we had never heard of it. Didn’t have any problem parking on the street. We are so happy we stayed here!!

The Addison on Amelia is a MUST

Charming Inn in the walkable downtown of Amelia Island. Hosts, breakfast, and daily happy hour were wonderful. Our room was comfortable, clean, and bathrooms updated. We rented a golf cart for a day and went to the lighthouse, museum, and farmers market. The beach is relatively close, too.
Highly recommend!!!!

Wonderful weekend getaway!

My husband and I stayed at The Addison this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had not stayed at a bed and breakfast before and we were impressed at how nice everything was. The inn is beautiful, very clean, and located within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. We didn't use our car the entire time we were there.

Lisa and Ron were wonderful hosts, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They prepared a delicious breakfast each morning-baked oatmeal with peaches one day and breakfast scramble with fresh fruit the next. The reception time in the evenings with wine and beer was great and gave us the chance to get to know some of the other guests.

We stayed in Room 5. It was beautifully decorated, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom shower was huge! Spa toiletries and robes were in our room too, which was a nice touch I didn't expect at a B & B. Some rooms are on the second floor, so that's something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues.

Lisa had recommendations of local places to try (First Love Brewing Company and Burlingame Restaurant) and both were really good. When she found out my husband was in the military, she gave us a military discount, which we greatly appreciated.

We had a wonderful, relaxing visit and will definitely go back again! We highly recommend The Addison at Amelia Island. You won't be disappointed. Thank you, Lisa and Ron, for helping us have a special weekend away.

Wonderful honeymoon trip to Amelia Island

We stayed at the Addison on Amelia Island for our honeymoon during the first week of July 2023. We got a lot of use out of the ice machine since it was crazy hot and humid that week! And the air conditioning worked well too. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The Addison is right in the middle of Fernandina Beach and it's an easy walk to many great restaurants and shopping opportunities. Lisa is a great chef and made wonderful breakfasts every morning. Ron was extremely helpful with arranging transportation (including bikes for a trip to the beach!) We look forward to staying with Ron and Lisa again in the future.

Getaway

We can not say enough about “The Addison”! Everything was perfect from the room, the location, the amazing breakfast, and needless to say the best host and hostess of the inn, Lisa and Ron!
We parked our car when we arrived and never moved it till we left. Everything was in walking distance to town!
This was the BEST getaway we have ever taken! You can not go wrong staying at “The Addison”!
