Best omelet I've ever had
Some how it had a really creamy texture. And a lot of things, including muffins, honey, hash brown asserole, were memorably good as well.
Above & Beyond
My college friend and I made a special trip after reading the reviews for this venue. We were looking for a beachfront view, great service and full service breakfast during a quick 24 hour trip to catch up on life and find personal refreshment.
When we arrived, the manager promptly informed us that their entire credit card processing system was down and that they could only serve us if we could pay by room charge or cash. We had neither. She could see the disappointment on our faces.
As we verbally processed our options she said, I don’t want to send you away and spoil your special experience. She quickly directed her staff to care for us on her dime. We struggled with this but her team quickly went to action and provided us with food, beverage, and service that they would not benefit from. The experience left us speechless.
The service, food and venue are special. If you are looking for an outstanding view, incredible food, world class service…this is your place.
Thank you!!
Amazing
We were extremely pleased with not only the food but the exceptional customer service. Chef Malcolm not only curated an immaculate omelette but he was so kind and knowledgeable on the ingredients. Thank you Malcolm and the entire staff.
Great!
Great customer service. 30 dollars for all you can eat buffet, I felt like they could have had a little better selection for the price but overall great food. Fresh orange juice machine was a hit with my family.
Beautiful views, poor service
The hostess was unwelcoming. We told her it was our first visit to this restaurant and were excited to have breakfast while watching the sunrise. She didn't say "we're happy to have you" nor was she welcoming, but she did ask for my last name. I gave her my full name and she responded, "I just needed the last name." Not off to a warm start.
We were seated outside and had a spectacular view of the sunrise. The morning was beautiful and the restaurant was practically empty because it was early.
One thing I didn't like was our party was seated directly next to two other tables on this large open deck, so our 3 tables were very close. There were so many open tables on the deck, the breakfast would've been more relaxing if we had maybe one table between the parties. It just felt strange with only 3 tables all scrunched up together and the rest of the deck completely empty.
Our waiter sold us very hard on the buffet. He said we could have eggs prepared any way we would like and that "everything on the menu" is basically on the buffet. I believe the buffet was $30.00 per person. He instructed, however, that "you only get 2 trips" to the buffet. Since the Omni markets itself as a "luxury resort" and we are average size people and clearly not going to eat them out of business, I thought his comment was rude. Besides, I normally make 3 trips to a breakfast buffet because I like small bites, with a fruit course, a protein course, and maybe a pastry or yogurt at the end.
The buffet was clean and had all the usual offerings of fruit, pastries, cereal, juice, bagels, breakfast meats and so on. I approached the egg station and asked the lady for scrambled eggs (our waiter said we could have freshly prepared eggs anyway we wanted them). She said, "scrambled eggs are on the buffet" and refused to make them. I then found the eggs on the buffet, which were in a covered container and totally congealed together so that I had to carve them off of the giant curdle of egg, which was not freshly prepared. The lady at the egg station actually laughed loudly when I found the scrambled egg bowl as if I were silly to not know they were there. I just wanted fresh eggs and for $30.00, I felt I was not out of line to request a couple of scrambled eggs.
The waiter did not check on us regularly. We had to ask him for water and coffee refills. When I finished my one plate from the buffet, I had no desire to have my "2 plate limit" from this place, I moved the plate to the side so I could finish my coffee and watch the sunrise over the ocean, hoping he would clear the plates to give us some room, but he did not.
I would not eat here again and would not recommend this restaurant. There are MUCH better and more affordable places for breakfast on the island.
