Horrible
Front counter staff was completely impersonable. Felt like I was talking to someone who had better things to do. Crappy parking setup, horribly depressing rooms. Felt like I was in a hospital or something. This place is straight crap don't waste your money.
Loved it!
We loved our stay here, the room was cozy and the ocean view was great! Before we went, we were concerned about some of the negative reviews but honestly couldn’t disagree more. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was super convenient. Room was beautiful and parking was awesome.
Quick walk out to the beach didn’t hurt
Would stay again 100%
Disappointing Experience--
We emailed the management several times to complain about our experience and received no reply until 45 days later. All of the issues listed below would have been expected in a motel or cheap hotel but this hotel appears to have high ratings along with it's high prices so naturally we expected so much better. It was a really unpleasant visit although the staff (not management) was excellent. Here is our experience and why you might want to think twice about staying at this high priced hotel. *Room not ready at 4pm check in time *There were not linens for the sofa bed and only 1 towel to share between 4 people. *We attempted to call reception from the hotel room phone and discovered the phone was not working. *When we called on our cell phones to talk to the front desk, we were informed that they were behind on laundry and that we would have to wait another 30 minutes until the laundry was ready and that we would need to come down and collect the towels and linens ourselves. The blankets given to us for use for the couch bed were very thin and one of them had rips all over it. *It was late and we were exhausted, when we finally went to get our towels to take our showers, after being at the beach waiting for the late check in, we discovered that the shower drain was clogged and would not drain. *We had to call from our cell phones again and wait for someone to come up and fix the drain. *The couch sofa was small and EXTREMELY uncomfortable, we could feel the coils in the bed. *We were not given extra pillows for the sofa bed and were told we would need to come down and get the pillows. By that point, we were so exhausted, we just figured out how to share the pillows among us. *When we were ready to go to sleep it was so cold, we tried to adjust the AC but the AC system was locked. We were so exhausted by that point we didn’t want to call again for assistance. *There was no information left out or posted in our room about accessing wireless connection or how to access information from hotel staff regarding the hotel accommodations.
Labor Day Weekend Trip
We recently returned from a three night stay at the Seaside Amelia Inn. We had excellent service and staff were very friendly. The following are our opinions and what we observed during our stay; your experience may be different. The hallway leading to our room had a very strong cigarette smoke smell to it, and our room also had a hint of that same smell, but not nearly as strong as the hallway. We had a king room with a view to the parking lot and a partial view of the ocean and it was pretty spacious for two The layout of our room was not like a typical room - the door opened up to the sleeping/bed area; then you walked to the living area. The bathroom is small with a vanity/sink, bathtub/shower combo and toilet. We did have to request wash cloths but had plenty of towels for two people. The beds & pillows were so/so and not very comfortable to me. They were not made and trash was not taken out the entire time we were there, but that was not a deal breaker for us. There are small tv's (like 27") in both the sleeping area and living area; with a fridge, microwave, and coffee table. They serve the typical "free" hotel breakfast - powdered eggs, pre-cooked sausage and/or bacon, cereals, pastries/muffins, waffles, etc. To be honest; the room was kind of pricey for the quality of hotel that it is but you have to remember that you're paying for a beach-front property - like literally, steps away from the beach. Overall, we would stay again and will recommend it to our friends and family as well. We enjoyed our trip.
fabulous
First time at this hotel, but have been coming to Amelia Island for 17 years. We were in room 205. The hotel and swimming pool area is in excellent condition. Light Airy and well presented. Lots of space. Breakfast was fabulous lots of choices hot and cold. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good parking both covered and outdoor. The room was small but ample for a couple. The bathroom was clean and beautifully appointed. Coffee, microwave and fridge in the room. Small balcony- good enough for drying swimming costumes. I have given this a 5 star review and will return however a few oddities but was not problematic for me 1. bed sheets are Polyester mix ! and awful. Never been to such a nice hotel that didn't have 100% cotton. 2. rooms overlooking the road are noisy at times, but not noisy at night. Its a busy intersection during the day. 3. No WiFi. the hotel states it has free WiFi, the staff will lead you to believe that it works but is spotty (I think the owner has told them to say this LOL) however it does not work nor does the work Station/business office computer. I had multiple conversations with holiday makers at the hotel who also were never were able to access WiFi. I only mention this as it may be important for some. It made no difference to me or my spouse.
