A picture is worth a thousand words!!!!
I don’t know how this hotel received ANY STARS at all? Upon entering the room there was a foul smell. We should have been tipped off by the empty parking lot. The surrounding area at the hotel was absolutely disgusting let alone the bathroom as it was not clean & more importantly unsanitary!!!!! The tiles were chipped in the shower …the tub itself was undeniably filthy! While walking up to our room it he surrounding area was indescribable. Needless to say, we checked out after an hour after checking in. Tge unfortunate part is that Expedia is not back us up on our claim & we’re being charged a full nights stay. I have been waiting for a supervisor on the phone for close to an hour & I just keep getting the run around from the representative. What was supposed to be a nice weekend getaway has left quite a bad taste in our mouth from our experience with the hotel itself as well as Expedia! Will post another review if our issue was satisfactorily resolved. Stay tuned….
Terrible and Mismanaged
BEWARE!! My wife and I made a reservation to stay here for 1 night this past weekend (Oct 7). We made the reservation on the previous Monday and it was confirmed. On that Saturday on our way to the hotel to check in (5:00pm) we were called by the hotel informing us that the hotel was overbooked and we could not stay there. They were trying to find us another hotel. We were meeting friends for dinner so staying at another hotel was not an option. Upon arriving at the hotel it was again stated to us that the hotel was overbooked. I tried to understand how we could be kicked out when the hotel when our reservation was confirmed the previous Monday! Upon talking with the Manager she stated that our room would be ready when we came back from dinner with our friends. Upon arriving at our dinner we were called again by the hotel telling us now that our room would be given up on a first come first serve basis!! We were just there and were told we would have the room when we returned. This hotel is totally mismanaged by incompetent people who have no knowledge whatsoever on how to run a successful hotel. STAY AWAY from here.
Fun place to stay at the beach!
I’ve stayed at this hotel twice in the last few weeks. It was great and it had everything we needed. My kids and I were treated with so much hospitality and great service. The bar manager Doug was the best. He remembered my kids and I on our second visit and remembered our orders. He even brought me my drink at the pool without asking. You can tell he is the heartbeat of this hotel and it wouldn’t be an awesome experience without him. The continental breakfast was so good and was much more than I expected. All of the staff was very kind and accommodating. I loved the bicycles/chairs/wagons available to us to take to the beach. I will stay here again soon. My kids miss Doug lol.
Bring Your Own Coffee And Lower Your Expectations
If I could give this property 0 stars I would. Let's start with the fact that the front desk person told me that they had rooms available on the first floor but she could not give me one because I had booked my room through a third party. According to the clerk, I would have to go through the third party because she could change NOTHING about my reservation. I called the third party (Working Advantage) who said that they do have the discretion to change my reservation but often say that because they just don't want to. I confronted the front desk clerk with this information and left a message for the GM to call me. I also left a voice mail for the GM to call me. I never heard from anyone. As a result, I had to carry two 70 pound electric bikes up and down the stairs each time we wanted to ride them, for 2 days. Add to the HORRIBLE customer service the fact that they do not even have a coffee maker in the room and this puts this room somewhere in the flea bag category in my opinion. I will never stay at this hotel or any hotel owned by RREAF Holdings, LLC, and Innisfree Hotels.
Decent hotel
After reading all the bad reviews, we were nervous but we wanted to give it a try. Hotel is in a good location, one short block from the beach, 10 minutes drive to Old town, 10 minutes drive to Fort Clinch state park, and there's a lot of eateries nearby, very convenient. Room was clean and bright. If your room is facing the pool then music will be going on till 10 PM but we were fine with that. ( Not sure about weeknight, since we were there on a Saturday night). There was an argument between some people very late at night which involved a police, but it was solved quickly, so no big deal.
They charge a $40 amenity fee regardless you use it or not. I think it's for the pool, hot tub, beach chairs & umbrellas, bikes, etc.. We didn't use any of that since we only stay one night but that's fine. Breakfast is decent. It's a little pricey for what you get but it's the busiest time here in Florida and that the cheapest price I could find in the area. If I'll come back to Amelia island, I probably will stay there again.
