Great location & service.
Nice enough Hampton, but showing signs of both its age and heavy use.
The location is fantastic, easy walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and bars “downtown” as well as the harbor. Short drive to the beach and Fort Clinch State Park. The hotel itself is clean but it clearly gets heavy use. Common area are pretty cramped, and there is no outdoor area at all, other than the small pool deck (and this area was closed due to work on the pool during our visit). Parking also a problem if the hotel is full (and it was, due to the Georgia-Florida game). We ended up parked at a government building nearby one night and had to move our vehicle early the next morning to avoid a tow.
Breakfast was included and better than most “free” hotel breakfasts. Staff friendly overall.
Hotel is very close to train tracks, but it’s not a heavily used line. You definitely hear the train if you are in your room when it goes by.
We would definitely stay again.
Great location, Musty Room
The hotel needs to be refurbished. The room has NO ventilation! It smells musty, the window cannot open to let fresh air in! It is a shame because the air is fresh off of the bay, The bathroom is musty, the toilet had a stain way down in the bowl, they need better brushes so they can clean it properly, it caused the toilet to smell like sewer. We had to keep the lid closed and the door shut. The bed was comfortable. There is a window unit for the air condition, Again, the window should be operatable to air out the musty room. They had a good breakfast selection, if you eat there. We did not. The Location is awesome, you can walk everywhere. The staff was pleasant. FYI: The train come by every morning at 7:00 a.m. and blows the horn, so you wake up.
Company fun weekend
The Hampton inn was a perfect place for our company, family fun weekend. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and had exactly what we needed. Manager Robert and Front desk agent Eric, were so helpful when we were checking in and during our stay in telling us great places nearby to visit and eat and explore. Breakfast is the usual continental but you were able to see a list of what was going to be provided each day. That was really nice. The food was hot and fresh. Jen and Evelyn were great attendants. Even Towanda the laundry housekeeping lady jumped in to help in the breakfast area to make sure that no guests had to wait on any food or request. We had a great trip and will definitely come back.
Great Stay, Great Location
Hotel's location is great- in the heart of downtown restaurants, shops and bars. The hotel is located on the waterfront- accessible for night time cruises. Hotel staff greeted with smiles each time you walked into the lobby. Erik and Twanda were friendly team members. Hotel offers continental breakfast which helps start your day off right. Very clean hotel, with lovely suites rooms. Our bedroom even had a ceiling fan, which is uncommon for most hotel stays. Beach access is a short drive away and lovely. Highly recommend this charming, quaint town for a weekend getaway.
Nice hotel, excellent location
This is a good hotel with a great location in the historic district by the harbor. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops are within easy walking distance. My room was a little musty smelling, but otherwise it was fine. The parking is tight, and there are not always enough spaces for all of the hotel guest. Parking requires a hotel permit, but I'm not sure if there's any effective way to keep non-guests from taking spaces.
