Located only a few steps away from the beach, the hotel is in a prime location allowing you to experience all that the island has to offer.
Our Atlantic Avenue address conveniently places you next door to Fort Clinch State Park and only a short drive away from Fernandina Beach’s historic downtown attractions. You’ll spend plenty of time enjoying the Florida sun with awesome outdoor activities such as the Fernandina Beach Skate Park and Putt-Putt Amelia Island within walking distance of the hotel.
Good value and close to beach
Great location to enjoy the beach, it is just across the street. Nearest restaurants are Salt Life and Sandbar. Circle K next door if you need drinks or snacks. Amelia Island adventures to rent Arcimotos, scooters, motorized boards and Riptide bike rentals are just steps away. If you want to go to the historic section its about 2 miles away or about a 35 minute walk but there are a lot more restaurant choices in that area. You may need a car to get around because Ubers are hit or miss on the Island, the other choice is to get some taxi numbers. Hotel itself was very clean, seems recently renovated and staff is very friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast in the morning, they alternate items such as egg and cheese omelets, hashbrowns, and sausage. The breakfast area is constantly kept up with so as each table is finish they come by and wipe it down which is plus, it's nice to be able to sit down at a clean table.
This hotel committed reward points fraud.
I am writing today with a serious issue regarding the FRAUD committed by this hotel. My husband and I were booked (using points we PURCHASED) at this hotel on 9/3-4. We had to abruptly cancel, the night before, because of illness. The hotel refused to return our points. We were told the room was cancelled, yet we received a receipt that showed we checked in and out. We have also received surveys asking us to rate our stay. The receipt shows my husband’s choice rewards number, so someone stayed in room with our PURCHASED points and using my husband’s choice member number. BTW, Choice corporate was unable to get our points back either and have ignored our emails.
Experience 5 star hospitality on Fernandina Beach!
Five star guest experience from the staff. Extremely convenient location at the best area of Fernandina Beach. Walking distance to the city park, two excellent restaurants and a Surf Shop. I was contacted twice on the phone prior to my visit to ensure everything I desired was ready for me upon arrival. They made me feel like a welcomed guest and a celebrity prior to landing at the airport. I've never been treated so well by any hotel staff in the world. I talked with dozens of locals and they said the Comfort Suites Fernandina Beach was the very best bargain in the area. Ivory greeted me at the front desk and she was an Angel. I am definitely going to be staying here at least once a year in the future. I've never experienced this before at a hotel. Everyone made me feel like I was a member of their family and this was my new home. I hope everyone who decides to stay here has the same experience I did.

Great basic hotel!
Wonderful , basic hotel. Literally steps from the beach. Very affordable. Ivory at the front desk was so kind and helpful . We came in at almost 7 pm with no reservation and she had us in a room in about 15 minutes!
Location Is Everything
The main selling point for this hotel is location and staff. It is literally one block from Main Beach and we could see the beach from our room. That is not the norm as our room, 314, was on the top facing the beach. Unless you are on the top floor facing the beach you won't get that view. Check-in was smooth and the breakfast selection was good as was the food. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are some maintenance issues which need to be addressed. The elevator worked, but the floor needs to be cleaned and molding around the floor (quarter rounds) need to be replaced. In our room, 314, a wand was missing on the drapes. That's minor. The bathroom is the major issue. The drain in the sink is rusty and caulking around the tub is moldy and needs to be replaced. Somehow water from the shower leaks onto the floor at the door and appears on the sill next to the carpet. In addition, the veneer on the inside of the bathroom door is missing near where a door stop should be. I wonder of issues are reported by the cleaning crew or is everything just ignored until issues become major. Above all, I would recommend that the room safe be anchored securely to the floor or the wall of the closet. It was mounted at one time into the wall plaster but that will not hold. The safe sits on the floor of the closet and anyone can simply lift it up and walk out of the room. This is not good. Despite these issues, I would still recommend this hotel because of its proximity to the beach and two restaurants and nice staff. Another plus is the drive to historic downtown is a straight route down Atlantic Ave. which turns into Centre Street and you are there. If you have valuables that need to be stored securely, I would consider an alternative hotel.
