Captain Jacks Smokehouse is an old-fashioned southern BBQ joint specializing in beef brisket, juicy steaks, and St. Louis ribs, plus a passel of other really good stuff like pimento cheese and pork rinds, Lexington red slaw, Charlie’s bourbon burger, and Ms. Kim’s chicken salad. Knock all that down with a glass of sweet iced tea, a cold beer or a cocktail featuring local Marlin & Barrel spirits. Dine inside or outside overlooking the beautiful marshes of Amelia.
Ole!
Food was yummy and so were the margaritas!! Had a fabulous server, Summer. We had fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp!
Not what it used to be!
First, the menus were filthy. The food was cold when it came out. We sent it back to be heated & it once again came out cold, less cold, but still cold. The tamales have always been our favorite. We were disappointed because they were dry & had less chicken than usual. Disappointing experience & not the first.
Lukewarm food
We ate here a few years ago and was good. Our visit yesterday was hohum! The food was lukewarm. Someone needs to check their holding temperatures.
Pretty cool spot for that family looking for that Mexican food fix!
Nice spot and a very eclectic menu. Lots of great choices on the menu. Complimentary chips and salsa. Very attentive staff and courteous.
Outside dining and a little putt putt area for the children.
one time visit only
We were traveling and read the reviews so we stopped in for lunch. Had to be the driest burrito I have ever eaten. Service was good and restaurant was clean. Very disappointed in the food. Chips and salsa was good.
