ARTRAGEOUS ARTWALK

On the second Saturday of each month, participating galleries host art events and open houses during the second Saturday Artrageous Artwalk to showcase their resident artists. Locals and tourists alike can enjoy the various types of art that each gallery has to offer as well as meet the artists. Photography, pottery, copper, metal, fused, as well as stained glass, watercolors, acrylics, oils and batik are just a few of the varied media folks can expect to see.

Amelia Island has partnered with Arts & Culture Nassau to create a #BeKindAmelia Traveling Mural for visitors and locals alike to enjoy. While you are discovering Amelia Island, find the mural and share your Insta-worthy picture and memories on social to support #BeKindAmelia. Just like kindness, the mural will move around Amelia Island and be featured in different locations and backdrops.

Fernandina Beach Arts Market

The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is open every Saturday. The Arts Market joins in the festivities and is open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. All markets are open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, rain or shine.

This July 9th, the Fernandina Beach Arts Market hosted 30 artists using mediums of wood, acrylic, fabric, steel, and the mind. Authur Steve Gibbs was be available for autographs along with his Java novel series. Find fine and whimsical jewelry, original art, woodworking, women's clothing, and gifts for babies, 3D table art, coconut drink holders for your bicycles, watercolor paintings, and other ocean inspired art is on display in this open-air market located in our quaint, seaside Victorian village.

October 8th: Community Composite Painting Project!

This months featured artist, Sandi Locklear, will host an activation at the Welcome Center providing a large canvas and supplies for a community composite painting project. Interested participants will add their take on the theme, “No Community Without Unity”. Her intuitive abilities guide her work in both structured and free-flowing paintings. Join in the fun from 5-8pm on Saturday, at the Welcome Center in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach.

August 13th: Bearded Art & Leather PLUS America's Youth Summer Camp display!

Tony with Bearded Art & Leather has been doing leatherwork for over 30 years. He specializes in small leather items such as belts, wallets and sheaths. Come see a display of artwork from America's Youth Summer Camp as well - both at the Amelia Island Welcome Center!

June 11th: Jett Paxton

Jett Paxton is a 15 year old Amelia Island local who began carving only 3 years ago. He enjoys carving wood spirits, nautical items and more. All of his art is handcrafted using only hand tools and Cottonwood bark. Jett is excited to see his artwork throughout the coastal areas and beyond!!

April 10th: Brian Barnard

Brian Barnard is a fine artist and live painter from the Greater Jacksonville area. After getting his BFA in Painting and Drawing from FSU, Brian has been finding his artistic groove painting live music events. The energy, immediacy, and positive environment, along with the good music, really inspire this artist. Brian's artwork is characterized by bright colors, high contrast, and bold lines. Nature, Fantasy, and Pop Culture are common themes in his work.
