Big things are cooking in downtown Fernandina Beach—and they smell amazing. Say hello to the newly relocated Kitchen 251, now settled into the charming and historic William Bell House on Beech Street.
After six flavorful years at the Amelia Island Marina, this local favorite has traded waterfront sunsets for timeless character—and a whole lot more room to savor the experience.
Chef Michael is still serving up the dishes locals know and love, but the move comes with some exciting upgrades. Think more space to gather, celebrate, and linger a little longer over lunch or dinner. With private dining rooms and a dedicated catering area, Kitchen 251 is ready to host everything from intimate dinners to life’s biggest moments. And behind the scenes? A larger kitchen means more creativity, more flavor, and yes—more menu items.
Speaking of the menu… come hungry. Kitchen 251 specializes in down-home food with a Cajun twist. Start with their amazing Seafood Dip appetizer and a bowl of famous Corn and Crab Soup. The local wild-caught Shrimp Basket is always a crowd favorite – not to mention the Catfish Special with Crawfish Étouffée for a little bit of that island Cajun magic. New additions like a tender 7-oz filet topped with a rich red wine demi-glace, Blackened Mahi & Shrimp, and the comforting Kitchen Pasta (housemade marinara over penne with your choice of protein) are already making waves. Don’t worry—fan favorites like Shrimp & Grits and the ever-popular Blackened Salmon Salad are still holding strong on the menu.
Kitchen 251 offers daily, made-from-scratch sweet treats, and they are definitely worth saving room for. Key Lime Pie, Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce, Cheesecake Du’Jour, and Chef Michael’s award-winning Pecan Pie! If you’re too full, never fear. That’s what “to go” boxes are for.
Open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 8pm, Kitchen 251 is serving up lunch, dinner, and plenty of reasons to make a reservation. Whether you’re a longtime regular or a first-time visitor, this fresh new chapter is one you’ll definitely want a seat at the table for.
Visit them in their new downtown location at 801 Beech Street.
