“An Evening of Story & Song” with Vance Gilbert

Brought to you by: Story & Song Bookstore Bistro

Vance Gilbert took much of America by storm and by surprise when he was invited to tour with Shawn Colvin nearly 30 years ago. Since then, he has recorded 14 albums and has opened for artists as varied as Arlo Guthrie, Anita Baker, Southside Johnny, and comedy icon George Carlin. He has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious gatherings and halls, like Wolftrap, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, and Boston’s Symphony Hall. Noted Richmond Magazine, “If Joni Mitchell and Richie Havens had a love child, with Rodney Dangerfield as the midwife, the results might be something close to the great Vance Gilbert.” He has been described as having the voice of an angel, the wit of a devil, and the guitar playing of a god.
