Literature Lovers: “The 100 Year Anniversary of The Sun Also Rises”
2026 marks the 100-year anniversary of Ernest Hemingway’s 1926 novel The Sun Also Rises.
Does it still hold up after 100 years? Is there value in reading or re-reading it today? Is Hemingway a misogynist?
Dr. Town’s final lecture will discuss this provocative classic in terms of the characters, themes, settings, and style the author has created, and lead you back to one of America’s most iconic (and sometimes controversial) writers.
Dr. Town is a Professor Emerita of English at Georgia Southern University.
