Chef Alex Jansen has loved food since he was a kid growing up in Wisconsin. This cheesehead knew cooking food was the way to people’s heart and couldn’t help himself to continuing his love.

Chef Alex attended Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts where he studied principles and systems of Auguste Escoffier, the international culinary icon and source of modern cooking. Upon graduating, Chef Alex joined the team at Salt, at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, as a line cook, and eventually worked his way up to Sous chef.

After 2 years, Chef Alex accepted the position of Chef de Cuisine at Alloro, at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas. He worked to create custom menus and cuisines for the newest Ritz-Carlton property. After getting Alloro up and running, Chef Alex moved back home to Amelia Island to pursue his love – cooking for people like you.
