DESCRIPTION:Amelia Baptist Church is delighted to share our cherished Christmas gift with the community—the 29th annual “An Evening in December 2025!”  \nWe warmly invite everyone\, young and old\, to join us for this special\, FREE\, family-friendly event on Saturday and Sunday\, December 6th and 7th. Come make a timeless memory by immersing yourself in the Biblical nativity story: see the Bethlehem Village—complete with Roman soldiers\, shopkeepers\, the inn\, and furry and feathered friends for petting—will be open from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM both evenings. For a joyful music experience\, find delight inside our Worship Center with an inspirational choral and string quartet presentation and drama. Concerts will be presented both days at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. \nTo help you plan your visit\, the church is located at 961167 Buccaneer Trail in Fernandina Beach\, situated at the roundabout near Harris Teeter. Parking will be available on the church property on a first-come\, first-served basis\, and we provide designated handicapped parking along with a golf cart available to assist any guests needing help walking from the parking lot to the event area. SUMMARY:The Maple Leaf: An American Civil War Shipwreck
DESCRIPTION:The Maple Leaf is a traveling exhibit developed through the Museum of Florida History’s Traveling Exhibit (TREX) Program. Behind the 2\,000 pounds of exhibit content is Dr. Keith Holland\, a Jacksonville dentist who discovered the wreck in the St. Johns River in 1984. Over the course of a decade\, Dr. Holland founded the St. Johns Archaeological Expeditions to excavate thousands of artifacts from the vessel\, buried beneath 7 feet of mud in 20 feet of water. \nToday\, the Amelia Island Museum of History hosts this remarkable exhibition\, allowing visitors a rare glimpse into the everyday lives of soldiers.\nA companion exhibit highlights the mystery and beauty of the underwater world through the lens of local Amelia Island artists.
