Why do we? \nAs a result of a flurry of prominent publicity in the 1970s and 1980s (including features in New York Magazine and an appearance on Good Morning America)\, Syd Hap has become known as a master sculptor and creator of puppets\, dolls and figurines. \nWhile she is most known for Betty Boop creations\, she’s also created puppets of celebrities including Paul Newman\, Dr. Andrew Weill\, the rock group Kiss and many others. \nToday\, this Amelia Island resident continues her mixed media art and uses her curious spirit\, sense of humor and desire to inspire others in facilitating workshops for adults and children. \nTickets: $20 includes program\, glass of wine and appetizers.

We’re thrilled to host our local Olympian\, Poe Pinson\, and her dad Kenny Pinson\, as they share about their children’s book\, Poey and Click. We’ll also have local author Lizzette Harris sharing her children’s book\, Marcus Finds Fantastic Flavors\, with her son. \nThis is a family-friendly event and we encourage children of all ages to come out! There will be many opportunities to celebrate literacy in a casual\, fun\, festive atmosphere.
