About Gilbert's Underground Kitchen

Underground Kitchen (UK) features a daily seasonal menu based on the best local produce available, as well as monthly specials celebrating a particular region or cuisine from around the world. Past special themes have included Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, Indian, Caribbean and Latin cuisines.  In addition to the international specials, UK also serves as a culinary think tank for traveling, young and visiting chefs from around the country to demonstrate their talent. Unique guest chef dinner events will be announced on a monthly basis on Mondays, and will be ticketed for an all-inclusive price.

Specialties: Mayport Shrimp and Grits, Alligator Ribs, Smothered Organic Chicken and Dumplings. Gluten Free and Vegetarian options available.  

Hours: Mon-Sat, 11am-9pm; closed Sunday

Great place for a family dinner and gluten free

Ribs, and BBQ sauces all gluten free. Everyone tried something different - Dad loved the alligator, mom the pulled turkey, pulled pork, southern bowl... they ladies all sampled the sangria tasting...

Lunch Special

Brisket with two sides and a drink for $10. Perfect size for lunch. Great collards, fries and cheese grits too. Jeanie gave us great service.
