For the third consecutive year, Omni Amelia Island Plantation is participating in the Audubon Society’s Great Backyard Bird Count. This is an important citizen science project that helps to estimate bird populations worldwide, as well as helping to identify any trends in migration, populations and diversity. Binoculars and field guides will be provided for each tour offering. Join naturalists from the Nature Center on an off-property adventure! We will be departing from the Nature Center at 8am and traveling northwest to Okefenokee Swamp, where we will go on a walking tour of the park, in search of as many species as we can find. There is a shop to purchase lunch there or feel free to pack a lunch. We will be returning to the Nature Center after lunch, in the early afternoon. Please contact the Nature Center at 904-321-5082 to reserve your spot!
