It's Party Time, New Orleans-Style! Join Les DeMerle, Artistic Director of the Amelia Island Jazz Festival as he presents and describes the many styles and history of the upcoming 2019 AIJF world-class headliners Delfeayo Marsalis, Jamil Sharif, Trio Caliente and more. The Dynamic Les DeMerle Jazz Quartet with Bonnie Eisele-vocals, Doug Matthews-piano/keyboards, Les DeMerle-drums/vocals, and multi-instrumentalist Dr. Bill Prince will perform music in the style of New Orleans legend Delfeayo Marsalis, and in styles from all of this year’s headliners ranging from swing and bebop to Dixieland, Latin, and more. The jazz set will also introduce and feature 18-year-old saxophonist/drummer John Brown, 2019 AIJF Scholarship winner. To set the mood for this festive program at Story & Song Bookstore Bistro, you’ll be treated to scrumptious food and potent drink “N’Awlins-style” while video clips of Delfeayo Marsalis and also New Orleans trumpet master Jamil Sharif appearing in the film “Ray”, the Ray Charles story, are rolling in the background.
