Unlike many Florida beaches, Amelia Island offers virtually unlimited access to its coastline. Whether Summer, Fall, Winter, or Spring, a stroll along any of the 13 miles of pristine quartz sand will bring a sense of calm and peace that everyone can use today. Check us out season by season and choose the one that’s best for you.
Summer
Sweet summertime! Think long, lazy beach days slathered in sunscreen with the sounds of the surf in your ears, a good book, and seagulls laughing in the distance. Ahhh. This is what Amelia Island in the summer is all about. Your favorite spot on the beach awaits.
Fall
The island experiences nice changes in the Fall as rainfall decreases, average temperatures are on the decline, and the ocean is still warm for swimming. It is our favorite season to get outside and explore the island for nature’s souvenirs. Take time to search the sandy shores and comb the surf for all types of shells or enjoy the thrill of the hunt while searching for shark’s teeth.

Winter
Winter and the beach are not usually synonymous. However, ’tis the season to come to Amelia and get the beach all to yourself! It brings drier air and comfortable weather perfect for walks on the beach in search of the rare Right Whale sighting. As a matter of fact, why not make plans now to attend the Right Whale Festival held on Nov 2 & 3 at Main Beach? Or, wet a line in the backwaters and Intracoastal Waterways surrounding Amelia Island. For best results, take a fishing charter with one of Amelia Island’s captains. Both are peaceful activities that offer a different perspective of the island.

Spring
Springtime on Amelia is the time to dust off those winter blues and get outside! The days are growing longer, the air is still crisp, and the ocean beckons. Time for a surf lesson with Surf Asylum to get ready for the larger summer waves, or a kayak tour to explore the dolphin-filled waterways around the island. Either way, Spring has officially sprung and your Amelia Island adventure awaits!
