Festivals

Hear from top authors, enjoy workshops, readings, and an array of events to inspire book lovers of all ages at the Amelia Island Book Festival, February 18 - 20, 2016.  This year's theme is Amelia Island Encounter and will bring together the best of romance, action, and mystery genres.

The Amelia Island Book Festival kicks off its three-day celebration of the written word with a luncheon at the Amelia Island Club, located at Omni Amelia Island Plantation resort.  What could be more fitting than to launch “An Amelia Island Encounter—Romance, Action and Mystery” with a dynamic hero, bestselling author and this years Keynote speaker, David Baldacci. Baldacci will be introduced by AIBF Honorary Chairman and New York Times and #1 International Bestselling Author, Steve Berry, and will discuss his writing career, strokes of good fortune and his latest book, The Last Mile.

On Friday, attend a writers' workshop run by Steve Berry and his wife Elizabeth to support Authors in Schools Literacy Program.  Later that evening, at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, David Baldacci will 'face off' against fellow writers R.L. Stine, Steve Berry, Joseph Finder, Lara Adrian, Mary Kay Andrews, and others at the Author Faceoff Dinner and Gala.  With a cocktail reception, sit-down dinner and music, this promises to be an evening of literary rock-star proportions.

Saturday at the Fernandina Beach Middle School, brings the popular Authors' Expo and Readers' Extravaganza, a family festival and celebration of the written word.  Food, fun, entertainment and activities contests, prizes for kids and adults throughout the day. Food and beverages offered by area schools and non-profit organizations. Author presentations, breakout sessions and book signings and book sales. Special free ticketed breakout with R.L. Stine.
