Florida's first spoken history museum, offers tours, exhibits, an interactive children's area, and more, providing a fascinating glimpse into the storied past of this legendary island. The storytelling tradition continues with a variety of tours that cater to many interests and age levels.

Walking tours take groups up Historic Centre Street and into the Silk Stocking District introducing them to the many great historical figures who influenced the architecture and business on the island. (These tours can be modified for children.)  Ghost tours are also offered. 

Hours: Mon-Sat, 10am-4pm; Sun, 1pm-4pm

Interesting

You will want to do on your own. But it definitely has its charms, and it’s worth going to. We enjoyed the past Shrimp history, and wartime history of the town.

Excellent explanation of Florida History

Well done, well shown, and extremely user friendlh. The attention to making everything fun and educational for young people provided an element often missing in history. Good people-good place.

nice museum

This is a very nice museum covering 4000 years of history but it isn't much different from other history museums. What set it apart was it's housed in the old Nassau County Jail dating back to 1878...
