Amelia Island Targets In-State Tourists with First-Ever Television Ad Campaign

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (October 15, 2009) – The Amelia Island Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has launched its first-ever television advertising campaign targeting one of the island’s most important markets – Florida.  Featuring four 15-second commercials, the ad campaign has been designed to promote the island’s appeal as a premiere in-state vacation destination.  During a month-long blitz of more than 250 cable systems throughout Florida, the ads will appear in nearly 2,000, 30-second spots on 55 channels, including Animal Planet, Bravo, CNN, Travel Channel, The Weather Channel, The Golf Channel and others.

“We believe this is the right time to initiate an aggressive television marketing campaign to boost one of our primary markets,” said Gil Langley, President and CEO of the Amelia Island CVB.  “Everyone loves coming to Amelia Island, and this TV campaign is going to remind them why.”

The Amelia Island CVB’s advertising agency, Paradise Advertising and Marketing, developed the campaign and produced four, individual 15-second commercials.  The spots will air back-to-back in various combinations to form a single 30-second commercial that targets.  Each 30-second spot will focus on a specific target market for the island, including golfers, romance travelers, and baby boomers.
