Fall Fun on Northeast Florida's Amelia Island
As Florida's version of fall arrives for its three-month stay, it is unpacking cooler temperatures and a new crop of events and activities to celebrate the best of Amelia Island.
- Every Friday night at 6 p.m. you can join the Amelia Island Museum of History for a ghost tour - a guided walking tour that explores the darkest shadows of the island's centuries-old past, and unmasks tales of paranormal activity. During the two weeks leading up to Halloween, the museum offers additional tours if scheduled in advance.
- For something a little less spooky, visitors can try the Amelia Island Bed and Breakfast Association's Fall Decorating Tour, which showcases seven of the island's unique inns, all decked out in fall décor.
- Families can enjoy a Halloween Carnival at the Amelia Island Plantation on October 31. The carnival will offer tricks and treats for every member of the family, with a Haunted Forest (non-scary for the younger crowd), trick-or-treating in the shops, carnival games, hayrides and much more. That day also offers the Halloween Pet Parade where furry, four-legged creatures invade Amelia Island Plantation at the Bark Avenue Pet Boutique.
