AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (November 5, 2009) – The Amelia Hotel at the Beach was recently honored with the “2008-09 New Member of the Year” award from Florida’s First Coast of Golf, a collaborative golf marketing organization for Northeast Florida. Holly Germano Wohlfarth, General Manager and an owner of Amelia Hotel at the Beach, was presented the award on October 28 at the Amelia Island Tourist Development Council meeting. Wohlfarth was chosen from among seven nominees for her commitment as a member of the First Coast of Golf Board of Directors and her strategic work to outline and enhance the benefits for select service properties that strive to promote leisure golf tourism.
The “New Member of the Year” award is presented to a lodging facility, golf course or golf academy that joined Florida’s First Coast of Golf in the previous fiscal year. The honoree must demonstrate excellence in facility condition and operations, and contribute to the promotion of the First Coast as a major golf destination.
“From what I have seen firsthand this past year, this is well-deserved recognition for Holly Wohlfarth and the Amelia Hotel at the Beach,” said Gil Langley, President and CEO of the Amelia Island Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It’s great to see one of our industry partners honored for their efforts to promote golf in the area.”
