Amelia Island Announced As VISIT FLORIDA Flagler Award Finalist

Flagler Awards Honor Outstanding Tourism Marketing Efforts

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (July 20, 2010) – The Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) was announced by VISIT FLORIDA® as a finalist for the 2010 Flagler Awards, Florida’s statewide hospitality awards program.  Presented annually by VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s official tourism marketing corporation, the program is designed to acknowledge the outstanding tourism marketing achievements of Florida’s numerous travel businesses, destinations and attractions.

“We are very excited about this recognition at the Flagler Awards,” said Gil Langley, President & CEO of the Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Our marketing team has worked diligently to communicate our brand message in a variety of out-of-the-box ways over the past year.”

The Amelia Island CVB, as well as the 17 other finalists, will be recognized during the 2010 Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism, September 26-28 at the Omni Resort at ChampionsGate. The program’s top honor, the “Henry,” will be awarded in each of 15 award categories encompassing a wide variety of marketing tools and activities. In 2010, VISIT FLORIDA received a total of 136 entries for the Flagler Awards. The Amelia Island CVB submitted three entries, including Creative Partnering, Creativity in Public Relations and Television.
