AMELIA
ISLAND, Fla. (January 13, 2011) – For the second consecutive year, the Amelia Island Convention & Visitors’ Bureau (CVB) and Harris Teeter Supermarkets are partnering on a vacation giveaway and special discounts to the grocery chain’s customers. Starting Jan. 1, 2011, subscribers to Harris Teeter’s e-VIC program (Very Important Customer) are able to enter to win a six-night vacation for a family of four to northeast Florida’s Amelia Island, valued at $5,650. The company’s current e-VIC subscribers, and customers who sign up for the personalized weekly email program by March 31, 2011, will be entered into the “Amelia Island Dream Vacation Sweepstakes.”
“Our partnership with Harris Teeter Supermarkets led to great results in 2010, so it made very good business sense to continue the relationship,” said Gil Langley, President and CEO of the Amelia Island CVB. “We anticipate similar results from the giveaway and special deals in 2011.”
The vacation package will include accommodations for a family of four at the oceanfront Summer Beach Resort on Amelia Island, a round of golf for four at Golf Club of Amelia Island, a trip with Kayak Amelia, tickets for the Amelia Island River Cruise, a private horse-carriage ride through downtown Fernandina Beach with Old Towne Carriage Company, and admission to the Amelia Island Museum of History. The winner will also receive a $50 gift certificate to Espana Restaurant, a dinner for four at Beech Street Grill, Café Karibo, and Crab Trap; and $1,000 for travel expenses.
In March 2011, Amelia Island will announce special discount offers available to customers with a Harris Teeter VIC card. Consumers will be able to use their VIC card to get special discounts at various lodging properties, attractions and retail outlets on Amelia Island.
