Amelia Island “Bundling Up” for Winter Guests

Discounts, Extras, Freebies Rolled into Hot New Winter Packages

 AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (October 6, 2011) –Many of Amelia Island’s award-winning resorts, hotels and bed and breakfast inns are preparing for the Florida winter by bundling up special rates, amenities and other cozy comforts in new vacation packages.  Amelia has long been a favorite destination for winter escapes, with mild temperatures, plenty of natural beauty and charm, and a calendar full of festive events, such asthe annual Christmas tree lighting at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and the Amelia Island B&B Holiday Cookie Tour.  Thanks to these hot new seasonal specials, visitors will really be warming up to Amelia this winter. 

 

This Thanksgiving, The Addison on Amelia is welcoming guests to spend the holiday enjoying the amenities and inn’s famous holiday décor while the innkeepers take care of all the Thanksgiving preparations.  For $225 (plus room rate), the Thanksgiving at the Addison package includes homemade breakfast each morning in the dining room or courtyard veranda; daily happy hour each evening (excluding Thanksgiving Day when wine and beer is provided with dinner); a two-hour Amelia River Cruise of Cumberland Sound; lunch on Thanksgiving Day; and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.  The Bed, Breakfast and Christmas Bliss offer includes breakfast on Christmas morning; a lunch buffet; the Addison’s signature happy hour on the veranda with seasonal hors d'oeuvres; and a Christmas dinner at Lulu’s at the Thompson House with Chef Brian Grimley. The Amelia Island Williams House is offering several packages throughout the end of 2011. Starting at $418, the Holiday Cookie Tour Package offers a two-night stay, two tickets for the Amelia Island Holiday Cookie Tour (November 19), breakfast each day and wine and hors d’oeuvres each evening. The Thanksgiving Holiday Getaway, starting at $145 in addition to the  cost of the room, includes Afternoon Tea on Thanksgiving Day, carriage tour of downtown Fernandina Beach, and a voucher for Thanksgiving dinner at Beech Street Grill. The package also offers discounts for longer stays. Guests staying three nights will receive 50 percent off the third night, while guests staying four nights will get the fourth night free. The Victorian Christmas Package includes a three-night stay, Christmas Goodie basket, snacks and beverages available all day, special hors d’oeuvres on Christmas Eve, Carriage tour to view the holiday lights in Fernandina Beach, Christmas Buffet at 2 p.m. and Sandwiches and Chili at 5 p.m. on Christmas day. This winter, The Fairbanks House is unveiling their new Make Me Over Package, perfect for someone looking for a little pick-me-up or exciting new look while vacationing on Amelia Island.  Starting at just $250 this add-on package includes a spa manicure and pedicure, a complete hair makeover including semi-permanent hair color and a cut and style, makeup application and a new outfit to complete the transformation.  Additionally, The Fairbanks House is offering a Romance Package with special winter rates from November 1 through January 31. Leave the Thanksgiving cooking to Chef Deborah at The Hoyt House this year at the inn’ssecond annual Thanksgiving Feast.  Rates start at just $210 per night, and guests staying three or more nights are invited to enjoy the holiday meal for just $55 per person (not including tax or gratuity).  The dinner buffet includes Roasted Turkey, Poached Salmon, Wild Mushroom Stuffing with Cranberries, Mashed Red Potatoes, and more, followed by a dessert buffet.
